Glasgow have started with six wins from six in the Pro14 and with Exeter still on a high after domestic successes, expect a high quality Champions Cup clash in Devon.

· Glasgow have won just two of their 19 games away to Premiership opposition (L17), however both those victories have come in their last five trips to England.

· Exeter have a 50% win rate against Guinness PRO14 opposition in the Champions Cup (W6, L6), with four of their six victories coming at Sandy Park.

A late Sam Simmonds try decided a tense game at Sandy Park as Exeter Chiefs began their Pool 3 campaign with a dogged win that ended Glasgow’s unbeaten start to the season.

  • Glasgow started strongly and crossed through Sam Seymour, with Finn Russell adding the conversion and a penalty to go 10-0 up after 11 minutes.
  • Harry Williams and Jonny Hill led a Chiefs revival with a try apiece, both converted by Gareth Steenson.
  • Warriors were only 17-15 behind when Lee Jones scored a try on 44 minutes but after an attritional second half, Simmonds touched down under a pile of bodies with two minutes left to seal the game for the Chiefs.
  • Their defeat ends Glasgow's winning start to the season and means they have won only two of 20 European away games against Premiership opposition.
  • This was the third meeting in Europe between these sides, with Glasgow winning on both previous occasions.
