Leinster aim to make it four wins from four in Pool Two following their comfortable win over Castres last weekend.

Michael Cheika’s men began their pursuit of a quarter-final place on the road with a bonus-point away win at Edinburgh.

And another maximum in France will put the Irish province in pole position to reach the last eight for the first time since 2006.

Castres remain rooted to the bottom of the pool with just one point but have won 10 of their last 15 home matches in the Heineken Cup.

Felipe Contepomi (hand), Shane Jennings (knee) and Isa Nacewa (arm)  return to the Lienster sqaud l for the Round 4 encounter having missed last weekend’s 33-3 victory over the same opposition.

In the case of Fijian back Nacewa, if selected, it will be his first appearance since the middle of September. Ronan McCormack and Cameron Jowitt are also included in the extended squad. A decision on Brian O’Driscoll (hamstring) who is the competition’s leading try scorer – with four in three games – will be made later in the week. The team is expected to be announced on Thursday lunchtime.

Leinster lost their 100 per cent record in Pool 2 as they lost their way in the second half at Stade Pierre Antoine.

The Dubliners were 12-9 to the good at the break, although that scoreline flattered them slightly. They dominated the opening exchanges and raced into 7-0 lead.

That came courtesy of a try from full back Girvan Dempsey, who faithfully followed a neat kick ahead from Brian O’Driscoll to score a try that required the TMO’s validation before English referee Dave Pearson could award the score.

Johnny Sexton stepped up to add the conversion points and Leinster seemed to be in the mood to make it back-to-back victories over the Frenchmen having triumphed last weekend 33-3 at the RDS.

But Castres had other ideas and refused to throw in the towel. Three successive penalties from Anthony Lagaidere edged Castres in front before a Sexton try, made by Shane Jennings, gave the visitors the lead again.

Despite their bright start, Leinster found it hard going as the Castres pack got to grips with the game up front and the trusty boot of Lagaidere kept them moving on the scoreboard.

Second half replacement Felipe Contepomi extended the Leinster lead with his 53rd minute penalty, but then Lagardere kicked three in the space of eight minutes to the Irish side’s indiscipline in the face of mounting pressure.

It was all too much for Leinster to cope with in the end and their winning run came to an abrupt end – albeit with a losing bonus point on the road.
