London Wasps cannot be caught as group qualifiers, Bayonne seeing their hopes as good as disappear in their back-to-back contests with Dai Young’s Premiership side.
A 13-13 draw at home was followed by a 30-16 defeat at Adams Park and that handed the incentive to Wasps.
Bayonne kicked off with a 71-7 romp at home to Rugby Mogliano and will be favourites to end the campaign with the double over the European newcomers when they go to Stadio Maurizio Quaggia.
Wing Marvin O’Connor got two of Bayonne’s 11 tries with All Black star Joe Rokocoko also getting in on the try scoring act when he came on as a replacement.

Bayonne signed off their Amlin Challenge Cup campaign in some style with a comprehensive victory over Italian side Rugby Mogliano at the Stadio Maurizio Quaggia.
London Wasps had already qualified for the quarter-finals from this pool and Bayonne had nothing to play for but pride but they secured a bonus-point try victory before half-time against the Italian part-timers.
Fly-half Jaques Louis Potgieter ended the game with a personal tally of 15 points, including a try, as the French Top 14 side kept their hosts scoreless.
Wings Bastien Fuster and Marvin O’Connor, Potgieter, full-back Sam Gerber and scrum-half Mike Phillips all crossed for tries in the first half to make it 33-0 at the break.
Wing Fuster claimed his second try in the second half, while centre Gabi Lovobalavu and replacement centre Thibault Lacroix crossed for two more tries for the French side.
