Last year’s quarter-finalists Brive travel to the Sixways Stadium on Saturday to face Worcester Warriors, having done ‘the double’ over them last season. The French side have won their last five pool stage matches, but were beaten by Worcester in the Warriors first Challenge Cup match back in 2004.
A first-half hat-trick by American hooker Joe Taufetee’e was crucial for Worcester, who survived a scare to get past Brive in their Pool 5 clash at Sixways.
- Eight points from Jonathon Lance and Ethan Waller's first try for the club in the second half saw them survive the threat of a fightback when Guillaume Namy touched down just after half time.
- New signing Jono Lance's 10 points came from two penalties and two conversions.
- ?Brive scored three tries, two by Namy and one courtesy of Julien Brugnaut.
- Brive had won their last five pool stage matches, their best run in the Challenge Cup since going unbeaten for 23 such matches between 2008 and 2014.
