This is the match that is likely to decide the winner of Pool 1, with just two points separating the two teams and London Wasps in pole position.

The 2004 champions are at home, and will be looking to avenge the 19-12 defeat Perpignan inflicted on them in Round 2 at the Stade Aime Giral.

It will be winner takes all when London Wasps travel to Castres Olympique next weekend to determine who will be the top dog in Pool 1.

A powerhouse performance from the Wasps pack and an exemplary display all round in defence, paved the way for a revenge victory for the home side following their 19-12 defeat in France in Round 2.

The were 17 points from the unerring boot of Alex King and one of Wasps’ rising young stars, centre Dominic Waldouck charged down a kick and raced to the posts for a vital try.

Ill discipline cost Perpignan dearly and they spent 20 minutes with 14 players after two of their forwards were sent to the sin-bin.

It was 12-3 in Wasps favour at the end of the first half – three King penalties outscoring one from his opposite number Nicolas Laharrague,  but the visitors came out for the seond half with the strong wind in their favour.

King and Laharrague swapped penalties at the start of the second half before Waldouck’s charge down on the hour virtually settled the game.

Perpignan were left chasing a bonus point and would have got one had replacement outside half Steve Meyer not missed with a comfortable conversion attempt of Ovidiu Tonita’s 73rd minute try.
