New Leicester Tigers coach Marcelo Loffreda picked his first side in Europe and they ground out a 14-9 victory over pool leaders Toulouse in last weekend’s battle between two teams that boast five Heienken Cup’s between them.

The former Argentina coach witnessed his men get their qualification hopes back on track with two home victories but they will have to switch their good home form to away grounds if they are to progress.

Before the Tigers’ defeat in Dublin, they had won their five previous away pool matches in the Heineken Cup.

And they will take comfort from the fact Leinster and Llanelli Scarlets have both emerged victors against Toulouse in recent seasons at the Stade Ernest Wallon.
