This fixture has been a regular date in Europe’s top tournament as it is the 10th Heineken Cup meeting between the sides.

Edinburgh have only won one match against their French counterparts, winning 23-16 back in 2003 at Murrayfield.


That was the Scottish side’s best season in the Heineken Cup to date before they were beaten in the quarter-final by three time champions Toulouse.


Toulouse won the title in 1996, 2003 and most recently in 2005 at Murrayfield against Stade Francais and will be odds on favourites to start their campaign with victory.
