Munster Rugby will seek to tighten their grip on European Rugby Champions Cup Pool 4 on Sunday evening as they showdown with Leicester Tigers at Welford Road, live on BT Sport.

  • A comfortable 33-10 triumph in Limerick last weekend saw Munster Rugby move four points clear at the Pool 4 summit, and a rematch in Leicester in Round 4's final fixture could see the Irish province move as far as nine points clear, dependent on the result of second-place Castres Olympique's clash with Racing 92 on Saturday.
  • Munster Rugby's crucial bonus-point win came as Simon Zebo collected his second Champions Cup try of the campaign, with captain Peter O'Mahony, Rhys Marshall and Chris Cloete also making marks on the scoresheet, but Leicester Tigers will seek revenge on Sunday and hope England winger Jonny May, three tries so far in Europe, can return to scoring form.
  • If they are to prevail Leicester Tigers must contain Ireland No 8 CJ Stander, who has made 53 carries already in the Champions Cup, more than any other player, as well as completing 46 tackles, ranking him fifth in the competition so far.
  • The line-out battle will be fierce as O'Mahony, currently ranked fourth with 14 wins, takes on third-placed Graham Kitchener of Leicester Tigers as the Aviva Premiership side seek a sixth victory against Munster Rugby in the 10th meeting between the clubs.

Victory at Welford Road saw Munster Rugby seize control of European Rugby Champions Cup Pool 4 and leave Leicester’s hope of reaching the quarter-finals in tatters.

  • George Ford and Ian Keatley exchanged penalties before Matthew Tait scored under the posts for his first try in 37 games. Ford added the extras.
  • That was just about as good as it got for Tigers, as three further Keatley penalties before the break made the scoreline 12-10 to the visitors at the interval.
  • Dan Cole was sin-binned at the end of an ill-disciplined first half for the hosts, and a CJ Stander try just three minutes after the restart saw the visitors take a firm grip. It was set up by Conor Murray's burst from a lineout.
  • There was briefly hope for Leicester courtesy of two Ford penalties, the second of which saw John Ryan yellow carded, as they reduced arrears to 16-19.
  • However, Keatley responded with two penalties of his own in the last seven minutes to put the game, and the 2017/18 Champions Cup, out of Leicester's reach.
