Harlequins’ search for a first win of the European Rugby Champions Cup campaign enters Round 3 as they welcome Ulster Rugby to the Twickenham Stoop on Sunday, live on BT Sport.

  • English Premiership side Harlequins are propping up Pool 1 with a solitary point to their name following successive defeats in the opening rounds of European competition, losing to La Rochelle and Wasps.
  • It is a crucial game for both sides if they are to progress to the knockout stages, with Ulster Rugby languishing six points behind Pool leaders La Rochelle having won one and lost one so far in the Champions Cup.
  • Harlequins enter Round 3 of European action buoyant having defeated reigning Champions Cup winners Saracens in the Premiership last weekend, while Ulster lost in in the Pro 14 last weekend as weak as being thumped 41-17 by La Rochelle in their last Champions Cup outing.
  • Sunday will be the fourth meeting between the sides with Harlequins having the edge in previous fixtures, beating the 1998/99 European winners twice.

Ulster Rugby boosted their bid for a place in the last eight of the European Rugby Champions Cup with a hard earned 17-5 win win over Harlequins in near blizzard conditions at Twickenham Stoop.

· Powerful winger Jacob Stockdale was a threat all afternoon and scored the only try of the first half after a break by Heineken Man of the Match John Cooney and good build-up work by Sean Reidy.

·  Scrum-half Cooney also landed a first half penalty to give the visitors an 8-0 interval lead and added three more after the break to end any chance Harlequins had of progressing in the competition.

·  The hosts did reduce the deficit after producing their best spell just after the break resulting in England prop Kyle Sinckler plunging over from close range.

· Quins were not helped by the early loss of inspirational forward Chris Robshaw after he failed an HIA assessment and his England teammate Danny Care lasted only three minutes of the second half due to concussion.

· The sides meet again in Belfast on Friday when Ulster will be seeking a double in a bid to stay ahead of Wasps in the Pool 1 table after they went down to runaway leaders La Rochelle.
