Connacht Rugby face Worcester Warriors in Galway on Saturday with both sides look to remain unbeaten in this year’s Challenge Cup. Worcester will need to break a run of eight away Challenge Cup losses, with their last win on the road coming back in 2013 against Rovigo.

· This will be the fifth match between the clubs in the Challenge Cup. Worcester won their first meeting in December 2005, however, the Irish province have won all three clashes since then.

· Connacht have won six of their last seven Challenge Cup games at the Sportsground (L1), although their one defeat in that run came against Premiership opposition (v Exeter Chiefs).

· Perry Humphreys made three clean breaks in Round 1, the equal most of any player, also gaining 103 metres from his nine total carries.

Connacht Rugby seized control of Pool 5 in the Challenge Cup with a 15-8 triumph over Worcester Warriors at The Sportsground on Saturday afternoon.

  • No 8 Eoghan Masterson put the hosts in front, forcing his way over the whitewash six minutes into the game, before a Jack Carty penalty gave Connacht an 8-0 half-time lead. 
  • Worcester wing Josh Adams pulled the visitors back within three points with his first try of the European campaign, but Jono Lance was unable to convert the extras. 
  • Matt Healy backed up his Round 1 brace of tries with Connacht's second try of the match, which was converted by Carty to give the Irish province a relatively comfortable 15-5 lead with 20 minutes to play. 
  • Lance was able to add a late penalty to the Worcester tally in order to ensure the Warriors left Ireland with at least a losing bonus point to their name. 
  • With two wins from two Connacht now top Pool 5 and have extended their unbeaten run at home in Europe to seven matches.
