Worcester Warriors left it late to record a 24-13 victory over Bucharest Wolves in the Amlin Challenge Cup.

The visitors outscored the Wolves 4 tries to 1 and but were made to work for their second victory in the tournament.

Both sides went into the game level on 5 points in Pool 1 after the first two rounds of action.

The hosts opened the scoring with a Florin Vlaicu penalty after ten minutes but Josh Drauniniu soon cancelled that out for Worcester as he crossed for the opening try which Danny Gray converted.

Vlaicu cut the deficit with his second penalty but a Jake Abbott try for the visitors stretched their lead to 12-6 and that’s how the scored remained at the break.

Florin Surugiu touched down for the Romanian side’s first try after 56 minutes and the two point conversion from Vlaicu pushed the Wolves into the lead.

Errie Claassens then scored on 65 minutes to regain the lead for Worcester and James Currie scored at the death to secure the victory and the bonus-point.
