Toulon booked their place in the last eight of the Amlin Challenge Cup with a seven try victory over Petrarca Padova in Northern Italy.

The Pool 2 leaders opened the scoring with a Jonny Wilkinson penalty in the first minute and the former England star was soon lining up his next shot at goal as he converted Benjamin Lapeyere’s try.

Alberto Chillon responded with a penalty for the hosts before Laurent Emmanuelli grabbed Toulon’s second score.

Tim Walsh kicked a penalty for Padova before Fabien Cibray rounded off the first half scoring with Toulon’s third try.

After the interval Lapeyere grabbed his second try and he was soon followed over the line by fellow wing Alexis Palisson.,

Julien Dumora converted, as he did with Gabi Lovobalavu’s score and a late penalty try.
