Krasny Yar got their Challenge Cup campaign off to a dream start last weekend when they defeated French giants Stade Francais 34-29 in Siberia. This week in Moscow they face Edinburgh Rugby, who will be looking to pick up another away victory after beating London Irish 37-14 last Saturday.
· Edinburgh have now won three pool games on the bounce, only once before have they enjoyed a better run in the competition.
· Edinburgh conceded just one try in the opening round, the joint fewest of any team in the competition (also Agen) and four fewer than Krasny Yar.
· Victor Gresev made 23 carries in Round 1, five more than any other player.
Rampant Edinburgh scored 10 tries in Moscow to take command of Challenge Cup Pool 4 with a second successive comprehensive victory.
- Blair Kinghorn, Sam Hidalgo-Clyne, Lewis Carmichael and Neil Cochrane all crossed the line to secure a bonus point for Richard Cockerill's side before half time.
- Prop Murray McCallum came on at half time and had scored two tries within ten minutes before a penalty try was awarded for Krasny Yar collapsing a maul right on the try line.
- Kinghorn, Fraser McKenzie and Stuart McInally crossed thereafter to rack up Edinburgh's biggest ever Challenge Cup win, eclipsing their thrashing of Timisoara Saracens last season.
- Evgenii Kolomiitcev and Andrei Kondakov got Krasny's second-half tries.
