Sale Sharks set-up a winner takes all tie against Brive at Edgeley Park on Thursday with a convincing 69-10 victory over La Vila.

Brive top Pool 5 after four rounds of action but the Sharks are just three behind and host their French opponents in Stockport in Round 6.

Tom Brady, Richie Vernon both scored a brace for the visitors and Rob Miller finished with a 22-point haul.

Brady opened the scoring after ten minutes and his try was quickly followed by one from Joaquin Tuculet.

Nic McCashin kicked a penalty back for La Vila just before Joe Ward had scored Sale’s third try.

Tim Evans crossed after 34 minutes for La Vila’s only try but before the break the Sharks ran in two more tries courtesy of Miller and Vernon.

After the break Will Cliff and Miller scored early tries and Brady then rounded off his brace.

Scott Mathiew grabbed a try for himself before Vernon and then Jordan Davies touched down.
