Castres Olympique moved into second place in Challenge Cup Pool 1 after beating a determined Enisei-STM side 28-12 in Krasnodar on Friday afternoon.
The visitors made a strong start, scoring a try inside three minutes as they worked the ball well and found Jody Jenneker who eventually dived over at the posts. The simple conversion was made by Ludovic Radosavljevic.
Enisei would respond after winning a scrum just inside their own half and as they worked play, Aleksandr Budychenko chipped his man, collected before picking out Bjorn Basson with another superb kick and he raced away for the immediate response.
A trio of penalties from Radosavljevic – who racked up 13 points – then followed as Castres opened up a nine-point lead at the interval.

The French side would again start the half on top, grabbing a second try of the afternoon through Gerondeau who burrowed his way over under a pile of Enisei defenders.
Julien Caminati and Nikoloz Khatiashvili would grab a try apiece for either side in the second half but Castres could not force home a fourth try to clinch a bonus point late on.
The French side will host Enisei next Friday at 17:00 GMT in Round 4 at Stade Pierre Fabre.
