Rugby Calvisano are playing their sixth straight Heineken Cup, but have yet to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.
Whereas Stade Francis Paris, finalists in 2001 and 2005, have only failed to reach the quarter-finals on one occasion when last year’s disappointing campaign saw them fail to qualify from Pool 3.
And despite the long history both sides have in the Heineken Cup, this is the first time they have locked horns.

French powerhouses Stade Francais Paris opened their 2006 Heineken Cup account with a bouus point victory over Calvisano.
The heavyweights led 17-0 at halftime on the back of tries to centre Geoffrey Messina and pacey winger Julien Arias, and kept their foot on the Italian side’s throat throughout the match.
Backrower David Dal Maso gave Calvisano gave the underdogs a glimmer of hope with a try in the 50th minute, but Stade moved up a gear to run in a further four tries.
