Brive, the champions from 1997, are still searching for their first win back in Europe’s premier competition.

The French outfit have yet to fire in the Heineken Cup with defeats to the Scarlets and then reigning champions Leinster back in October.

However, Alix Popham and co will be buoyed after recording a home win over Toulouse in the Top 14 on Sunday and will know that nothing less than a win will leave them at the foot of Pool 6.

London Irish have enjoyed a frustrating time in Europe since their historic win on the opening night at Leinster. They were surprised in round 2 when the Scarlets raided the Majeski Stadium, leaving with a 27-25 win.

Irish could only manage a 16-16 draw with Worcester in the Guinness Premiership last weekend, a result that means they remain in second place on the table.
