Brive will be bidding for an 11th European Rugby Challenge Cup home win over Italian opposition in 12 games when they entertain Zebre Rugby Club at 20:00 UK and Irish time on Friday.
Their solitary defeat was to Zebre in October 2014 and you can see if the Italian club can repeat the feat live and free on ChallengeCupRugby.com, the official tournament website.
Match facts:
- Brive and Zebre have met four times previously. The Italian side won the initial three clashes, but Brive won the most recent game between the two (24-10, December 2019).
- Zebre’s first ever away game in the Challenge Cup saw them beat Brive, back in October 2014. Since then, they have picked up three further victories on the road, but lost 11.
- Zebre won all 12 of their scrums in the opening round of the Challenge Cup, the most of any side in the competition.
- Brive’s Luka Japaridze conceded the most penalties (5) of any player in Round 1 of the Challenge Cup this season, four of which were for scrum offences.
Carlo Canna kicked a penalty with a minute left on the clock to hand Zebre victory in a tense encounter against Brive in the European Rugby Challenge Cup.
Brive took the lead after just five minutes through a Guillaume Galletier try but Zebre drew level shortly after as scrum-half Marcello Violi crossed to score.
Brive edged back in front through a Tedo Abzhandadze penalty moments later, but it was Zebre who went into the halftime break leading thanks to a try from Pierre Bruno.

The home side regained the lead just over ten minutes into the second half courtesy of another Abzhandadze penalty before the fly-half added his third of the evening with a quarter of an hour to go.
Zebre responded with a penalty of their own moments later through Canna, bringing the visitors within a point of Brive, before the fly-half held his nerve to slot a kick in the 79th minute to hand his side victory.
The two sides meet again on January 16, with Brive making the trip to Zebre’s Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi in Round 3 of the European Rugby Challenge Cup.
