Bath Rugby meet Glasgow Warriors in their EPCR Challenge Cup Pool A opener on Saturday, with the two sides having endured tough starts to their domestic campaigns.
2008 EPCR Challenge Cup winners Bath have lost six of their first nine matches in the Gallagher Premiership this season, while Glasgow find themselves ninth in the United Rugby Championship (URC).
Bath failed to progress from the pool stage of last season’s EPCR Challenge Cup, while Glasgow reached the quarter-finals having dropped out of the Heineken Champions Cup.
The match at the Recreation Ground kicks off at 13:00 (UK & Irish time) and will be broadcast on Viaplay-Premier Sports, and FloRugby.
With a win over Glasgow in 2015 @BathRuby became the first club ever to win their group after losing their opening 2 games 💪

Bath Rugby
- Bath finished the 2021/22 Heineken Champions Cup with a lowly ball retention rate at the scrum of 81%.
- In the Gallagher Premiership, Bath have conceded the joint-most tries in the opening 10 minutes of their fixtures this season (seven).
Glasgow Warriors
- In last season’s Heineken Champions Cup, Glasgow Warriors had the highest rate of success off the tee, slotting 90% of their shots at goal. They also averaged a competition-high 2.75 penalty goals per 80 minutes.
- They scored the fewest tries in the competition in their 2021/22 campaign (three).
- Struggling at the lineout, Glasgow had an EPCR Challenge Cup-low 80% on their own throw last season. However, they won 100% of scrums on their own feed.
Glasgow Warriors survived a late scare to win away in the EPCR Challenge Cup on Saturday, twice finding themselves pegged back by a determined Bath Rugby side before ultimately claiming a deserved 22-19 victory.
Glasgow started well, with their powerful pack dominating in the scrum and through their driving maul. Tries from Lewis Bean and George Turner saw them take a 12-0 lead before Bath rallied, roaring back with tries from Wesley White and Fergus Lee-Warner.
But returning Glasgow centre Huw Jones broke two weak tackles to score with the last play of the half and give his side a 19-12 lead.

The start of the second half was all Glasgow, but their repeated attacks came to nothing, with Joe Cokanasiga putting in a couple of massive hits and Dominic Miotti being shepherded into touch as he tried to go over in the corner.
Bath’s response was immediate and effective, with Matt Gallagher going over in the corner and Piers Francis brilliantly converting to level things up at 19-19.
But Duncan Weir came off the bench to kick Glasgow back into the lead and they managed to hold on for an excellent victory.
